Hi ghoulies! The new year means a new chapter in my story. As promised, here’s the newest update for The Werewolf King.
The Werewolf King – Part 2
The full moon always brought on the pain. Of course, it made sense—that’s when his werewolf side fought to break free. But it was more than that now. The full moon was the night he lost her. The night she was taken from him forever.
Now his howls were not just for the agony of transformation but for a heart torn to pieces. For years, he had done nothing but survive. If anyone asked—though no one dared come near him—he would have no answer. It was as if something unseen tethered him to this existence, though he couldn’t fathom why.
The castle, once alive with laughter, where candles flickered over dinners shared with her, was now silent. Except for his screams. The only sound in the cold stone halls was the memory of her—the scent of her skin, the warmth of her touch, the way her laughter had filled the air.
Tonight, something broke the stillness. His supernatural hearing picked up the crunch of footsteps in the snow outside.
Someone was coming.
No one had dared approach his castle in years. When the great door to his sanctuary creaked open, the sound vibrated through his bones. He stood frozen in the dark, every instinct screaming to either flee or fight, but his feet remained still.
Instead, he listened.
He had not crossed the threshold of the castle’s hall in days. To walk through the rooms they had shared—where she had once smiled, danced, and sat beside him—was unbearable. The darkness consumed them now, as he could not bring himself to light a single flame. It was too painful.
As he paced the cold halls, his footsteps echoed in the oppressive silence. All he had left were memories—echoes of a love lost.
Then, the door groaned again. The sound was unmistakable. A shadow crept into the entryway.
His heart pounded. Could it be? The door had not opened in so long. He stood motionless, the weight of grief threatening to crush him.
The footsteps grew louder.
He wasn’t alone anymore.
